A terrible country (Russia)

I am back from Russia. The best way to solve the miss of Russia is by reading books and podcasts about the country.  I often recommend that my learners read fiction from the country they are planning to travel to. A good novel set in a particular place would give you far more insights into how people live compared to a guidebook. Keith Gessen’s book is set in Moscow about a decade back but still gives a nice peek into family life, the community and the authority in Russia.
